Good point. I’ve also stayed in places that do not have paper copies available everywhere. Perhaps there’s a management component at work, or maybe guests are expected to ask now. One of the hotels where I stayed this year kept copies in their reception area instead of all the individual rooms. If Wifi is working, though, people can always read online for free at http://www.BibleHub.com or check out Gospel recordings in 7,000 vernacular languages here: https://fivefish.org/us.
Several different regions have important connections with the Gideons’ story, and I’ll mention their work at least once more during my 50 states series. I couldn’t resist including this example. It reminded me of times in my own travels when it felt like each step and new acquaintance was orchestrated.
There were many times in my travels when I was grateful for a Gideon Bible in the bedside table. Now I know how the originated. Thank you!
Agree that Gideon Bibles are a blessing!
The Gideon Bible was always there when you needed it. Not so much anymore.

I believe it's part of the change in hotels overall, many no longer provide other items unless you ask for them.
Agree. It's unfortunate, because Gideons International would probably be happy to restock with no cost or real inconvenience to the hotel.
“Oh for good!” 😊
